Pictures From My Easter Weekend in Speyer Germany

I spent four days relaxing and taking walks over Easter with two German girls who are irronically both named Katha. It was so much fun. Here are a few pictures from our time there.

This was the main shopping street near our apartment.

One of the side streets that we would take walks on.

I think walks are one of the essential things in life. If it has been a while since you last took a walk alone make sure that you take one sometime soon. You will feel better I'm sure of it. :)

That's all for now but hopefully there will be some pictures from our Berlin Outreach soon.

Berlin Outreach

Outreach week is coming up really quickly. I leave for Berlin this Saturday with a team of eight other people. We will be going to help and hopefully encourage a small church plant in the city. We are praying that the Lord would open many doors for us to do ministry and bless the believers there. There is a couple therein Berlin that is connected to the church and they have graciously offered for us to stay in there house for the week. Our team will be doing things like street witnessing, Bible studies, park outreach and sunday school in the church. For me I will be probably helping in all those areas but I  think that I will  also be doing a lot of the cooking for the team.  So please pray that the Lord stretches our food budget and that I am able to bless my team with good and nourishing food while we are away. Also the area that we will be in is primarily Muslim so please pray for wisdom and conversations that are covered by the love of God for those that will be on the streets sharing the gospel. It should be a really fun week and I am looking forward to seeing how the Lord works.
If you would like to pray for us I know that our whole team would really appreciate it. Here is a list of  the names of those going.
Jessica    Sara    Nina    Lydia    Brandon    Patrick    Luke    Eric    Sammy

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin that so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Update from Germany!

I borrowed a computer for the afternoon from a friend so hopefully I can catch you all up on what has been going on here in Germany.

Well, first things first. The Lord is to be praised and thanked. There seems to be an over abundance of lessons being learned amongst us here. For sure a lot of these lessons are not easy but the Lord is working amongst this body in a very real and powerful way and that is such a blessing to see and experience. I know for me personally the Lord has really been stressing the importance of obedience to Him. I know, your probably thinking "obedience? I mean Lydia how old are you? Shouldn't you have that one kind of figured out?" Since childhood my parents taught me the importance and benefits of being obedient. Unfortunatley, I seem to be blessed with a incredibly thick head. Daily I find myself relearning how to choose obedience in the small things. He is incredibly patient with me though and His Word is such a blessing to strengthen me in my resolve to follow Him. Anyway that is a super short synopsis of what the Lord is doing.

Life here is good. There are more students attending the extension campus here in Seigen than ever before and it is such a blessing. We have about a hundred of us here between staff and students and we have such a cool family environment. There are people here from the US, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Finland, Ethiopia and it seems like I am forgetting a couple but you get the picture. We are very language confused sometimes but it makes it really funny when people get tired. School has been going on for a little over a month now so everyone has pretty much settled into there classes and jobs. I am in charge of housekeeping this semester. I am convinced more than ever that we serve a God that likes to laugh. For those of you that have lived with me. You know how funny it is for me to be in charge of housekeeping. To say the least this is not something that I expected but I have already seen how the Lord is preparing me and equipping me for the future. I am blessed to lead a team of ten guys and girls in keeping the campus and the all of the school facilities clean. It is a great group and we seem to have fun even when we are scrubbing down bathrooms.

In general all is well here in rainy Seigen and I am so blessed to have all of you in my life. Thank you for your prayers and support.

God Bless you all,

Lydia
